Interview with MPAs of GMPP

Sonia Freymond and Agnès Laurent, medical practice assistants at the Groupe Médical de Praz-Palud

In interviews with GPs, cardiologists and medical practice assistants, we want to ensure an exchange of experiences among our customers in order to jointly optimise the patient experience and increase the diagnostic yield.

We have already had the pleasure with  Michel Wenger, Medical Director of Centramed and the cardiologist Dr med. Bernd Eigenberger, specialist in internal medicine and cardiology and Deputy Head of the Medical Centre Medbase Kreuzlingen. They will be followed by Sonia Freymond and Agnès Laurent, medical practice assistants at the Groupe Médical de Praz-Palud (GMPP).

How many doctors work at GMPP?
Bei uns arbeiten 6 Allgemeinmediziner, 2 Kardiologen und 2 Gynäkologen.

How long has GMPP been using the CardioFlex long-term ECG service and how many kits are in use?

The GPs have been using CardioFlex since August 2019 and currently use 2 kits..

Why did you decide in favour of CardioFlex back then?

Surveillance, of course. More precisely, online surveillance.

evismo always has insight into the measurement, whether in the event of technical problems [e.g. data quality] or in order to be able to stop the measurement when diagnosing the cardiac arrhythmia in question (e.g. atrial fibrillation). The patient is then contacted directly, either for a new consultation or to solve the current technical problem.

How do you specifically use CardioFlex with your patients?
Can you describe a normal use case for me?

During the visit, the doctor in charge prescribes a long-term ECG for the patient.
If there is a kit in the practice, we MPAs take over the instructions and the application on the patient.

With CardioFlex, it is much more efficient than before. Previously, with the old system, at least four weeks would pass between the patient's first and last appointment. In addition, the patient had to go to a specialist to have a long-term ECG performed and we as a practice had to wait several weeks for the report. Now we receive the report within three days of completing the measurement.

Find what you are looking for with CardioFlex?

Yes, the findings are very clear so that the doctors know how to proceed.

How does the process work for your patients after the diagnosis?

The GPs discuss the findings and therapy with the patient. If necessary, they obtain a further opinion from the cardiologists in the practice. This is of course the advantage for us that we have the specialists, i.e. two cardiologists, in our practice who are always available to the GPs. If necessary, the cardiologists carry out the treatment themselves.
What has changed for your patients thanks to CardioFlex?

As already mentioned, patients are treated much more quickly.

The kit also gives patients more freedom. Because the sensor is so small and waterproof, patients can go about their daily activities, exercise and sleep well without any restrictions. And, the patient undergoes the diagnostic process at our practice and no longer needs to be referred to an external centre.

Thank you very much for the exciting exchange, Sonia and Agnès!
